After
Vatican Council II, the Church recognized the need to better serve
those who were interested in becoming Catholic. The Rite of Christian
Initiation of Adults (RCIA) was approved by the National Conference of
Catholic Bishops in 1986, and by the Congregation for Divine Worship in
1987.
Since that time, RCIA at Gesu has been a vital part of the parish.
Under the direction of the Core Team and the pastor, those who are
seeking to learn more about the Catholic faith, and possibly to become
Catholic, meet on a regular basis to discuss Church teaching, doctrine,
and other issues which make the Church Catholic.
If you are interested in learning more about becoming Catholic, or just
have questions about the RCIA process itself, contact Gesu's
Coordinator of RCIA,
Fr. Matt Walsh, S.J. or
Mike Heimbach. Either of them can also be reached by calling the parish office at (414) 288-7101.
