Bountiful Rewards from Serving Others
Living a meaningful life is so essential to fulfilling my identity, in particular, my identity as a Christian. Since I was hired in January of 2002, I have been blessed every day to see the face of my faith in our Jesuit priests, our parishioners and guest volunteers as they devote timeless energy to living out their baptismal call in humble service to God’s people. Christ is alive and working through these servant leaders supporting the needs of others in our local community and the larger world. My spirit is regularly nourished by observing the selfless contributions of time and talent by so many, whether it is in visiting the homebound or sick, feeding our homeless guests, advocating for social justice issues, reaching out to our sister parish in Haiti, preparing and providing hospitality once a month, acting as a Eucharistic minister, lectoring, singing, to name just a few of the many ways in which our community serves others. In my role as Director of Administrative Services I have been privileged to work hand in hand with so many people who have willingly shared their expertise in the administration of our parish. The foundation of my faith has grown much stronger just understanding how I can consistently give back to my family and friends, our Gesu faith community and the world at large. My rewards will continue to be bountiful while serving at Gesu.
