Fr. Joseph Kappes, S.J.

I am happy to join the Gesu Parish Staff. I have been in parish ministry at Gesu, Cleveland and Gesu in Toledo, Ohio. Most recently I served at St. Therese, a Jesuit staffed parish of the Maryland Province north of Charlotte, North Carolina. I have enjoyed working with families and caring for the sick both at home and in hospitals or nursing homes.

In my early years as a Jesuit I taught, counseled, and administered in our high schools: University of Detroit High School and Academy, St. John's High School in Toledo, St. Ignatius (my alma mater) in Cleveland and Walsh Jesuit in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. I enjoy working with adolescents and the challenges that they present.

I also like to ride my bike and I also attempt to master the game of golf. I am looking forward to meeting more of our parishioners!
